95 percent of full-time Ottawa Catholic School Board staff fully immunized

OTTAWA – COVID-19 vaccination rates continue to rise in the four Ottawa state-funded school boards six weeks after the start of the school year.

Ninety-five percent of full-time staff at the Ottawa Catholic School Board are fully immunized, while 93 percent of all staff at the Ottawa Carleton District School Board have received two doses of the vaccine. The French-speaking public and French-speaking Catholic school boards report that more than 95% of staff have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Ottawa Carleton District School Board and the Ottawa Catholic School Board have mandatory vaccination policies in place for all teachers and staff.

As of Wednesday, 95 percent of the 5,256 full-time employees of the Ottawa Catholic School Board received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 80 full-time employees are partially immunized.

Seven employees of the Ottawa Catholic School Board provided a medical reason for not being fully immunized. The board reports that 184 full-time employees have not submitted a vaccination certificate form.

The Ottawa Catholic School Board says 82.6 percent of its 1,111 casual and temporary employees have certified to be fully immunized, while 31 employees are partially immunized. A total of 162 casual and temporary employees have not yet submitted a vaccination certificate form.

At the French-language public school board in Ottawa, 99% of full-time and casual employees received at least one dose of the vaccine.

The Eastern Ontario Public School Board reports that as of October 20, 85.88 percent of its 2,252 full-time employees are fully immunized, while 13.85 percent are partially immunized. Among casual workers, 58.2 percent of its 837 casual workers are fully vaccinated, while 41.8 percent of casual workers are partially vaccinated.

The Center-Est Catholic School Board says 89.2% of its 3,737 employees are fully immunized and 5.6% of employees have received a dose.

On Wednesday, the CECCE indicates that 227 employees have not submitted a vaccination certificate form.

93 percent of OCDSB staff fully immunized

The Ottawa Carleton District School Board says 11,039 of its 11,923 full-time and casual employees are fully immunized, while 201 employees are partially immunized.

About 30 staff have approved medical or religious exemptions.

The OCDSB says 80 staff who responded that they are not vaccinated or refuse to disclose their vaccination status do not work directly with students.

“The remaining staff (500+) who are listed as not completing the attestation do not work directly with students and the majority of whom may be on leave or casual employees who may work elsewhere,” OCDSB said. .
