Be respectful to the people who live in the neighborhood when choosing a place to park, as well as when driving around the neighborhood.

If you want to avoid the crowds, head to the lively neighborhood as soon as it gets dark outside, around 5:30 p.m. You can visit the Christmas windows every day of the week from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The busiest time is Saturdays from 7 p.m. and above. If you are a little more active, you can also take a walk to see the lights. While you can easily take the main road, it can take a while to travel the entire subdivision, which covers two square miles. Another option is to participate in one of the light tours. Perhaps the best known option is with Mister McKinney’s Historic Houston Bus. This open-top, convertible-style school bus runs the neighborhood six times a night, Monday through Sunday through January 2.
