The government made major changes to its travel system this month, making it easier for passengers to go on vacation.

The UK travel red list was reduced from 54 destinations to just seven earlier this week.

The changes, which took effect on October 11, saw South Africa, Brazil and Mexico drop from the red list.

The government also announced a simplified two-tier travel rules system with the complete abolition of the Amber and Green Lists.

There is now only one list of “no-go” red destinations of just seven locations, including: Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Travelers arriving from a redlisted country must still self-isolate in a government-mandated quarantine hotel for 10 days upon their return to the UK.

Testing and isolation restrictions have been relaxed for most vaccinated passengers visiting non-redlisted locations, making it easier to travel abroad.

America, Canada and Mexico are not on the government’s red list.

If you are fully vaccinated, you must book and pay for a two-day Covid-19 test and complete a passenger locator form before traveling from these countries to England.

When you arrive in England from these countries, you must take a Covid-19 test no later than the second day.

You are considered fully vaccinated if you have taken a full course of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before your arrival in England. The day you received your last dose does not count as one of the 14 days.

To enter, vacationers must show proof of vaccination with a vaccine approved by the Government of Canada.
