Is integration with UK and US progressing?

Talks are taking place between the European Union and the United Kingdom and the United States on how to integrate countries’ Covid-19 vaccination certificates into the EU system, which will be launched on July 1, a confirmed the EU.

The EU’s COVID digital certificate will allow the 27 member states to verify Covid-19 vaccination certificates and Covid-19 tests issued in any of the other countries.

An EU spokesperson said The connection that the ongoing technical discussions with the UK to integrate UK vaccination certificates into its system “are progressing well and going in the right direction”.

Indeed, the digital ‘architectures’ of the UK and the EU are aligned, the spokesperson said. They could not give a schedule for the systems integration or any other details.

The EU is also continuing discussions with the US on this issue, but progress is not as advanced. The EU spokesperson said: “We are closely following how the debate on the [vaccination] certificates evolves in the United States ”.

The EU’s COVID digital certificate program, formerly known as the digital green certificate program, allows people to show travel authorities and border officials that they have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in a EU state, tested negative for Covid-19 in the last two weeks to six months and are therefore considered immune.

For anyone who has already stored their vaccination record on Tous Anti Covid, it should update automatically. For all those who have a paper version, they must go to the website of the health insurance of France Ameli to download a new version of their certificate from June 22.

If you are unable to access this online service for any reason, you should contact the healthcare professional who vaccinated you and ask for a copy of your vaccination certificate.
